Permanent Retaining Wall Built on Kali Pulo PHB Channel

Kali Pulo connecting (PHB) channel at RW 06, Jatipadang Urban Village, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta now has a permanent retaining wall. Hopefully this wall can prevent runoff water from flowing to the settlement.

It can hold water suppress with considerable pressure up to 2.60 cubic meters per five second

Pasar Minggu Water Resources Unit Head, Chairul Anwar said, formerly, his side only used sand sacks to build temporary wall to prevent runoff water from flooding the area. But then, this retaining wall is made into permanent from January 15 to 27.

"We build it using a cast concrete as high as 2.5 meters and five meters long. It is using concrete and iron for the construction," he conveyed, Monday (1/28).

Pasar Minggu SDA Unit's Field Coordinator, Didi Supriadi wants to ensure it is strong enough to hold water pressure with maximum water level 60 cm.

"It can hold water suppress with considerable pressure up to 2.60 cubic meters per five second. We deploy 30 Pasar Minggu SDA personel to build it," he stated.
